The broken ladder.
The sleeping beauty of life can be awaken when we start to notice the cloudy opportunities we come across in our various circumstances. The trouble each day brings come along with a password to unlock the trouble of the next day. Literally, we mostly fail to realize some of our privileges because it seems this our generation has been coded with the ideology of “no time”. Be it today or tomorrow, we will all meet our individual broken ladders but then, are you carrying the right tools to mend yours?
The following is a narrative of Ali, a prospective footballer. Ali originated from one of the five small clans in Thosara kingdom well known for gold mining and export. Unlike other families, Ali’s parent could not afford a Tv set nor sending him to school though his passion lies in football. While his mates went to school in luxury cars, he walks miles trying to feed his father’s sheep in tears of shattered dreams and numerous unanswered questions but still spent time in the field. After some years, a football competition was organized in the kingdom by a foreign club among the five clans to select the best player and he emerged winner: the beginning of his career.
As we move up the hills and down the valleys of life, having in mind that what lies ahead of us is greater and better, we should not also forget that there will always be difficult times waiting to pull us down. When you opt out of the race when you are down, when you ask questions such as “why me”, when you start regretting your life, pause and think. How would you finish the race when you have marked yourself “X” already? It is you because you are special and have been prepared for it before now by the same life that is testing you. As you regret your present which is the summation of your past, do not forget that many wishes to be in your position.
The ill step of your ladder must be fixed before you step on it. The duration it takes or time to start mending a particular section of it differs among individuals. Peter might start at the early hours of the morning to fix his while John will not meet his ill step to mend till late afternoon. So, by the time John will start mending his, Peter will still meet him on the way and say hello dude: no competition. Even identical twins have different paths, ours can never be the same. As long as you are on your ladder, keep rolling and do not let the pressure of time be among your worries even as you spend days, months or years mending a particular section. We all possess our different tools to fix our individual broken ladders along the way.
Oooopss, my tea cup is empty guys, i will be back, cheers.
